Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum meets with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney for bilateral talks in Mexico City on Thursday, September 18.
Bilateral co-operation in trade, security, energy, and emerging economic opportunities is scheduled to top the agenda. The talks also aim to deepen the Canada–Mexico partnership and reinforce commitments to regional stability and North American prosperity.
Carney took office on March 14, 2025, five days after winning his party's leadership election, and went on to win the parliamentary elections in April. He and Sheinbaum last met at the G7 Summit in Kananaskis in June.
