Live from Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi, as a total lunar eclipse takes place on Sunday, September 7.

It is set to last one hour and 22 minutes, and is also visible right across Asia, eastern Africa and Australia.

The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is the largest mosque in the UAE, accommodating over 40,000 worshippers, and ranks among the biggest in the world.

Aligning with the full 'Corn Moon', it marks the year’s second total lunar eclipse. A total lunar eclipse is when the Moon moves completely into the Earth’s shadow, and can appear deep red due.

Unlike solar eclipses, it is safe to observe without eye protection and attracts strong interest from astronomers and skywatchers around the world.
