Presidential candidate Rodrigo Paz, Christian Democratic Party's candidate, is delivering a victory speech to supporters to celebrate initial results in La Paz on Sunday, according to early exit polls of Bolivia’s 2025 presidential election.
If the early results are correct, Rodrigo Paz will succeed President Luis Arce from Movement for Socialism (MAS), who served a single term and did not seek re-election.
Nearly eight million Bolivians were registered to vote for president, vice president and members of parliament, with eight candidates in a race shaped by the economic crisis.
The MAS party has dominated Bolivian politics since 2005, except for 2019–2020. Candidates in the 2025 race include Samuel Doria Medina, Jorge ‘Tuto’ Quiroga, Manfred Reyes Villa, Rodrigo Paz Pereira, Andronico Rodriguez, and MAS candidate Eduardo del Castillo.
