The 80th session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA 80) will begin in New York City on Tuesday, September 9.
Leaders from 193 member states will gather for the annual meeting, entitled 'Better Together', which aims to address key global challenges.
UNGA 80 will be presided over by former German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock. She has outlined focus areas for her presidency, including advancing the reform plan of Secretary General Antonio Guterres for UN effectiveness and transparency, as well as progress towards 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development goals.
The assembly holds its annual regular sessions between September and December, with the high-level general debate set to take place on Tuesday, September 23.
