The first of the two debates planned by the Supreme Electoral Tribunal (TSE) between presidential candidates ahead of the general elections in Bolivia takes place in Santa Cruz on Friday.
All the eight candidates will participate in the debate, according to TSE spokesperson Tahuichi Tahuichi Quispe.
General elections take place in Bolivia on Sunday, August 17.
7.9 million Bolivians are eligible to vote for the president, vice president, and all seats in both houses of the legislature.
Current President Luis Arce decided not to seek re-election, while court rulings are set to stop former President Evo Morales from running too.
If no candidate secures a majority, a second round will take place on October 19 2025.
