Russian President Vladimir Putin takes part in the BRICS Summit in Rio via videoconference on Sunday, July 6.
During the meeting on peace and security, as well as global governance reform, BRICS leaders will explore prospects for closer political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation, and share views on pressing global issues. The adoption of a final declaration is planned upon completion of the session.
Held in Rio de Janeiro under Brazil’s chairmanship of BRICS, the summit brings together heads of state and government from member countries and partners for talks on boosting multilateralism, trade, and global security.
The event marks the first BRICS summit since the bloc's expansion in 2024 and is expected to address strategic priorities for the bloc's extended format.
