Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic delivers an address in Belgrade on Sunday, June 29, following mass protests demanding early elections.
Tens of thousands of students and civic groups gathered in Slavija Square on Saturday, accusing the government of undermining democratic norms and calling it illegitimate.
The protests began after last year’s deadly collapse at Novi Sad train station, with demonstrators now demanding early elections, accountability, and electoral reform.
Aleksandar Vucic has served as Serbia’s president since 2017, after previously holding the office of prime minister from 2014 to 2017.
