Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan opens the latest round of peace talks between Russia and Ukraine at Ciragan Palace in Istanbul on Monday, June 2.
Delegations from both countries are expected to present proposals for a potential ceasefire.
Ukrainian Defence Minister Rustem Umerov will lead Kiev’s delegation, while Russian presidential aide Vladimir Medinsky will head up the Russian side. Officials from the United States, United Kingdom, France, and Germany are also set to be on the ground.
A previous round took place in Istanbul on May 16, where the two sides agreed to begin drafting ceasefire terms and a prisoner exchange.
