Argentine universities, unions rally against funding cuts

Live from outside the National Congress in Buenos Aires on Wednesday, October 2, as university staff, students and those from the Trade Union Front (Frente Sindical), and the University Federation of Argentina gather to protest against government funding cuts.

Heightened security measures are expected, with disruption to transport and businesses around the area.

It comes after President Javier Milei confirmed he would veto the University Financing Law passed by Congress. Milei has also vetoed pension increases, while his government insists cutbacks and austerity measures are needed to restore the country's finances.
