Pope Leo celebrates Divine Liturgy on Beirut Waterfront

Pope Leo XIV leads the Celebration of the Divine Liturgy on Tuesday, December 2, at the Beirut Waterfront, drawing large crowds on his visit to Lebanon.

The open-air service offers a rare moment of prayer and solidarity for a country still recovering from the 2020 port explosion and ongoing economic challenges.

The Beirut liturgy follows the Pope’s weekend Mass in Istanbul, Turkey. During his stay in Lebanon, he is also scheduled to meet with the country’s senior officials. It marks the second leg of the first foreign trip of his papacy.
