Live from Paris as French trade unions stage a nationwide strike against Prime Minister Sebastien Lecornu’s draft budget on Tuesday, December 2.

The CGT, FSU and Solidaires represent workers in rail transport, education and the civil service. The unions oppose austerity measures in the 2026 draft budget and call for higher wages and increased funding for public services.

France has seen major political turmoil with five PMs in four years. The final vote by Parliament is expected before the end of the year.
