A demonstration in support of Palestine takes place in Paris, coinciding with the UN International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, on Saturday, November 29.

Organisers are calling for the protection of Palestinian rights under international law, including self-determination, the right of return to their land, and an end to Israeli occupation and settlement building in the territories. They are also backing sanctions on Israel and a 'permanent' ceasefire in Gaza.

The event forms part of a wider national campaign, with groups co-ordinating transport from multiple cities. Israel and Hamas agreed the first phase of a peace plan in October, covering a ceasefire, return of hostages and prisoners, and aid supplies into Gaza.
