Ecuador's electoral body provides live updates from the count on the nationwide referendum in Quito on Sunday, November 16.
Voters are set to decide on a series of constitutional reforms, including whether to authorise foreign military bases, establish a Constituent Assembly, and remove mandatory state funding for political parties.
The referendum takes place as President Daniel Noboa seeks to bring in stronger measures to confront organised crime and drug trafficking.
Ecuador has banned foreign military bases since 2008, a policy introduced under former president Rafael Correa. While the government argues that foreign co-operation is vital to improve security, opposition groups warn it could compromise the country’s sovereignty.
